Maine received two concurrent 15-years to life terms in prison for two counts second-degree murder in connection with a DUI crash. Joseph Haskell Maine, 28, poses a danger to society if not sentenced to prison, Kern County Superior Court Judge Michael E. Dellostritto said upon sentencing. Prosecutors and the victims’ family had asked that Dellostritto sentence Maine to serve the second-degree murder counts consecutively, in effect giving him 30 years to life. A separate case of felony spousal abuse against Maine was dismissed by Deputy District Attorney Courtney Lewis due to the sentence he received for the murder charges. Source: www.bakersfield.com
