MURFEESBORO – Murfreesboro Police responded to a report of found property at the Wal-Mart on South Rutherford Monday. Officers recovered a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck that had been reported stolen in Franklin when a Murfreesboro Police officer’s ALPR (automatic license plate reader) picked up on the vehicle’s tag, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department... Further investigation led to a man at River Rock Boulevard, who had the keys for the vehicle and stated he had purchased it from a friend named “Chew” for $50, the report states. MURFEESBORO – Jonathan Maynard, 21, of Lascassas Pike was injured in a hit and run early Tuesday, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department report. Maynard told officers he was walking down Lascassas Pike around 2:30 a. m. when a dark, mid-sized sedan with no lights appeared to speed up and hit him before leaving the scene. MURFEESBORO – More than $25,000 worth of belongings, including a car, were reported stolen from the home of Devin Hershel on Blaze Drive. According to the police report provided to The Daily News Journal, loss included a blue 2001 Jaguar XT3, two plasma televisions, designer shoes and clothing, watches and jewelry. Later, Virginia Hershel found the car parked in an alley off of State Street with the key on the seat, the report stated.
