14-year-old leads Vallejo police on high-speed chase - Contra Costa Times
A 14-year-old driver led police in a high-speed chase of more than 60 mph on the streets of Vallejo Saturday night. The officer, from Vacaville, attempted to pull over a 2006 Silverado truck at the intersection of Florida Street and Sonoma Boulevard at about 10:15 p. m. when the suspect fled, according to police. As the driver turned on to Nebraska Street, a Vallejo police vehicle caused the suspect to lose control of the truck and roll the vehicle on Nebraska Street. The 14-year-old driver, who had taken his parents' car without their knowledge, was booked for not having a license, felony evading police and assault with a deadly weapon. At one point in the pursuit the suspect drove straight for an officer, forcing him to take evasive measures, police said. Several motorcycle officers from different cities were in Vallejo on Saturday as part of a three-night "Avoid the 10" Solano County DUI Task Force. Source: www.contracostatimes.com
