High Flow Duramax Left Side Exhaust Manifold
Improve exhaust flow, reduce exhaust gas temperature (EGT's) and realize greater power gains with this new "High Flow" driver's side exhaust manifold for the 2001- 2010 GM Duramax. This manifold will fit all Chevy 6.6L Duramax motors 2001-2016 - LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML.
You may not know it, but the factory driver's side exhaust manifold on your 01-10 Chevy / GMC duramax is pinched down in the middle, it is hard to see with the factory heat shield on, but it is there for sure! This was done to allow for steering shaft clearance if this motor where to be use in a heavy duty truck with a cab over configuration, this is where the cab sits directly over the motor. Since the Chevy/GMC Silverado PU Truck is not this kind of cab configuration, the pinched area serves no practical purpose and is not necessary. As a result of the pinched area, the drivers side manifold only flows 80% of what the passenger side manifold flows. A factory restriction that can rob power and cause higher EGT's.
FINALLY there is a low cost solution to this problem. A factory GM "LML" series late model duramax original equipment manifold.
In 2011 the LML series duramax motor was released, and GM finally fixed this design flaw!!! This Original Fatory LML GM driver side exhaust manifold restores exhaust flow balance to match the passenger side, improving power and reducing EGT's. The GM High Flow Manifold is a direct bolt-in replacement for the factory part. The GM manifold is made from the same material as your factory unit and will bolt in place with no problems. You will have to re-shape your heat shield to make it fit the new manifold, but it is very easy to do.
