Coroner: Pair in DUI crash died from blunt force trauma - Redding Record Searchlight

PALO CEDRO, California - Two people died from blunt force trauma in a crash in Palo Cedro last week, the Shasta County Coroner's Office reported today. The other driver, James York, 24, of Redding, died after being taken to Mercy Medical Center, coroner officials said. The crash happened when York, headed westbound in a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup, crossed over and into the path of Avelar's 2007 Honda CRV, officials said.
