Racine man's life claimed in crash - Jackson County Times-Journal
The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 6 a. m. on State Route 279 east of Moriah Road in Jackson County. The crash occurred when a 2002 GMC Sierra pick-up truck, driven by Brian J. Thorla, 44, of Racine, traveled left of center on westbound State Route 279 into the path of an eastbound 1989 Peterbuilt semi-truck, driven by Londell E. Browning, 25, of... Thorla’s vehicle struck the semi head-on and both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lane of State Route 279. Thorla was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative from the Jackson County Coroner’s Office. Other units assisting at the scene included The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Madison-Jefferson Fire Department, Jackson County E. M. S. and Angles Garage.
