That said, it was only a matter of time until the Silverado’s nearly-identical cousin, the GMC Sierra followed suit. Well, here it is. Like the Silverado, the 2016 GMC Sierra receives a bunch of exterior tweaks that are really confined to the front-end. These changes include new LED c-shaped day-time running lights with new LED low-beam headlights, updated LED fog lamps, slightly tweaked bumpers both fore and aft, and c-shaped rear LED taillights to match the front. There are also some new available capabilities in terms of interior tech for the Sierra, much like the Silverado. Otherwise, the Sierra remains mechanically the same. DETROIT — GMC’s best-selling truck has great momentum coming off its best June since 2006 and 12 consecutive months of year-over-year sales gains. With exterior styling as its top reason for purchase, the new truck adds key design elements: LED “C-shaped” signature daytime running lights and LED headlights.
