Investigation leads to seizure of pot, vehicles, cache of weapons - KIRO Seattle

Officers seized about 614 growing marijuana plants in what they described as an elaborate indoor clandestine growing operation. Personal records, computers, banking information, a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, 2014 Ford F350 pickup, 1948 Ford F-150 hot rod pickup and a 1937 Chevy hot rod passenger car were seized during the operation. Police said the vehicles appeared to be direct proceeds from the marijuana growing operation. At the time the warrant was served, both James Arnold, 55, and Laveta Arnold, 52, were located at or near their home. According to police, the Arnolds were interviewed and admitted to growing pot for more than 15 years for their personal use as medical marijuana users, but during the last five years, they had been selling it for a profit of about $136,000 a year. James Arnold is the vice president of Urban Medicinals, a medical marijuana dispensary in the Olympia area, as well as a second store in the Tacoma area. Police said James Arnold admitted to buying all or part of the seized vehicles with proceeds from his growing operation, as well as financing numerous hunting safari trips to Africa to hunt big exotic trophy animals.
