As noted when we drove a 2009 model, Ford has been able to deliver more room and more horsepower while increasing fuel efficiency and horsepower at the same time. Under the hood sits an optional ($795) three valve per cylinder Flex Fuel 5. 4-liter V8 that produces 310 horsepower and 365 lb. ft. of torque. The engine mates to a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and allows the big SuperCrew to achieve 18 mpg highway mileage numbers. The standard engine is a 4. 6 liter three valve V8 that puts out 292 horses, so drive both and make your decision based on hauling cargo and towing needs. Built on a 145 inch wheelbase chassis with a 5. 5 ft. bed, Ford SuperCrew is a big vehicle. However, there's a bigger 157 inch wheelbase SuperCrew if you need a larger 6. 5 ft. box.
