Morrisroe charged in hit-and-run death - Bradford Era

Paul “Zeke” Morrisroe, 44, of 77 Sunny Lane, is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and accidents involving death, both second-degree felonies. DUI and multiple summary traffic offenses, including careless driving, failing to stop and render aid and failing to notify police of an accident. McKean County District Attorney Ray Learn said little as well, but lauded the work of the Pennsylvania State Police. Regarding the amount of time that has passed between the June 2 accident and Morrisroe’s arrest, Learn said, “It’s what is required to make sure cases are investigated thoroughly and properly. And for the first time, police have revealed the name of Charles Bailey, a passenger in Morrisroe’s truck at the time. McKean County Coroner Mike Cahill said Tuesday that Bailey’s death had been thoroughly investigated and was ruled a suicide. According to the affidavit of probable cause in the case, at 10:17 p. m. June 2, several calls were made to the McKean County 9-1-1 Center reporting a hit-and-run accident on Route 646 between Aiken and Cyclone. Officer Kyle Day of Smethport Borough Police was at the 9-1-1 Center when the call came in, and immediately drove toward Cyclone on U. S. Route 6 and Route 59, but didn’t encounter any vehicle fitting that description. Source: www.bradfordera.com
