TOTD: Which Cars Would You Resto-Mod? - MotorTrend Magazine

Since I'm going through my 1/3-Life Crisis (I plan on seeing 150),I'd probably go with a Pro-Touring version of my first car,a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (Motor Trend COTY for '73 if I'm not mistaken). Probably go with Laguna Blue from the new 'Vette but skip the white Landau roof. Probably go with the LS3/6-speed auto combo. I'd get rid of most of the superfluous lower body trim (kinda torn on the hood ornament, though). Brembos all around. 1972 Olds Ninety-eight 4door hardtop with a 6. 6Duramax. Pretty much any GM G-body with pretty much any LS motor and six-speed manual sitting on air suspension. The Buick version could only get the turbocharged 3. 6 coupled with this eight-speed auto that GM claims can up shift quicker than a 911 PDK. Currently disassembling my dad's old '75 F100 Custom (long bed, 360 FE / C6 ). trying to decide what to do. I am thinking of a 446 cid al. headed FE worth around 500hp/built C6/ 9" on pump gas that drives nicely. Probably lower it with some torque thrust wheels and new discs all around. Great old truck , going to use it to haul parts and bikes and have fun. Disks all around, air ride (no fbss, just up/down). If the one I end up getting needs a motor, then i'll source a 6 litre from a Denali/Escalade/2500 Suburban. Source: wot.motortrend.com
