It has been developed by a Japanese manufacturer, and it is built in Thailand, but New Zealand is the only country in the world that gets it. The ute is the two-wheel drive version of the Isuzu D-Max LS-T, a highly specified vehicle which boosts... So Isuzu NZ decided it wanted a piece of the action, and approached Isuzu headquarters in Japan with a proposal for its own highly-equipped 2WD ute. But only New Zealand gets the 2WD version, said marketing manager Gareth Lowndes at a media conference in Auckland on Friday. "We believe there's a market for a highly specified 2WD ute. It will build on the performance of our 4WD models and add to D-Max sales," he said.
