Huntingburg — Huntingburg officers arrested Dakota Monroe, 21, of Huntingburg, after he allegedly battered his girlfriend outside the Casey’s General Store Thursday at about 10:30 p. m. According to authorities, Monroe allegedly pushed and grabbed... Huntingburg officers went to Monroe’s residence on N. Van Buren Street to speak with him about the incident. When Monroe opened the front door of the residence, the officers immediately noted the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the home. When he was asked to step outside of the home, Monroe refused and attempted to shut the door on the officers. They attempted to escort Monroe from the doorway but he began pulling away and forcibly resisted the officers. Jasper — Jasper officers arrested Brandon Nord, 34, of Buttercup Circle, Sellersburg, after he caused an accideent while driving under the influence (. 126 percent blood alcohol content) Thursday. According to police, Nord was northbound on Clay St. in a 1996 Mercury Sable at about 5:09 p. m. when he stopped at the 6th St. intersection. He told police that the traffic was backed up from the light and he didn’t see a 2010 Chevrolet traveling west on Sixth St. When he pulled into the intersection, he struck the Chevrolet driven by Gina Norris, 21, of SE Main St. , Holland.
