With the updated 2016 Chevy Silverado, General Motors continues to scrabble in narrowing the gap to the Ford F-150. The Silverado had a complete redesign for model year 2014, but the redesigned 2015 F-150 has dominated story lines with its switch... The redesigned F-150 cost Ford some market share as production was delayed to retool plants. It could be considered a good problem that Ford couldn't meet demand earlier in the year. With the Silverado, GM is doing whatever it can to maintain the perception that Ford is down, from an ad blitz doubting the benefits of aluminum to an aggressive product cycle.
