Now standard on the Ford F-150 equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, sport mode will operate in two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive automatic and four-wheel drive high settings. The sport mode system is borrowed from the 2015 Ford Mustang and can be activated by pushing the tow/haul mode button twice. Engaging sport mode on the Ford F-150 will change the frequency of gearshifts, allowing the truck to stay in its sweet spot of the powerband, resulting in a more spirited driving experience. According to Ford, there’s “less shifting on engaging drives, such as twisty roads with rolling hills.
