Dover approves capital improvements - Clarksville Leaf Chronicle

The Town of Dover Board of Mayor and Aldermen has approved a resolution to expend $50,000 on capital improvements at Dover City Park and the Town Hall. Dover City Administrator Kim Wallace said that the money would come out of a $100,000 certificate of deposit that the town had, eliminating any financing costs. Part of the improvements will be repairs at city hall, and since the front porch will cost about $3,800 to repair, it will not need to be bid out. There are some other repairs at city hall that are slated as well. So far, $19,300 has been raised for the playground in the city park, and the playground bids are due at the end of July. Wallace said that some of the capital improvement money will most likely be used to supplement the playground project, but it is unknown how the bids will turn out. Chris Swartz, Employee of the Month for July, was unable to be at the meeting, but a family on Pumpkin Ridge Road was very happy that he was on their road recently. Approved allowing Wallace to serve as the Tennessee state representative to the National Association of Women Highway Safety Leaders. Her qualifications include serving as network coordinator for the Governor’s Highway Safety Office for 10 years and serving as Dover Police Chief for 15 years, as well as serving as president of.
