On Patrol – Week ending August 21, 2015 - Longboat Key News

The following are actual police reports as written by Longboat Key Police Officers. Officer Smith was dispatched to a report of solicitors in the area of Emerald Harbor. Officer Smith informed the subjects that they were in violation of Longboat Key Ordinance 112. 01 regulating vendors, peddlers, and solicitors. Officer Smith issued both subjects waning for violation of the ordinance. Officer Kovarik responded to 2300 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive in regard to stolen property. Officer Kovarik spoke with the complainant who stated she was at a party at 4800 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive in the clubhouse when they notice that her purse was missing with the property inside it. The complainant was able to track her phone... After asking a few of the people at the party they were able to come up and one of the nurse aides that lives on Royal Palm in Sarasota who was also at the party and had left early. The agency that employs the nurse aide was contacted and they did talk to the aide that lives in the area of where the phone was tracked and she said she did not have the phone or the other property. The agency did state to the complainant that they had some issues with aide before and that she was not very helpful when they called to inquire about the missing property. Source: www.lbknews.com
