Pickup hits Go Raleigh bus at downtown intersection - News & Observer
Police ticketed a 25-year-old man from Hickory after the pickup truck he was driving slid into a Go Raleigh bus at a downtown Raleigh intersection during the rush hour Monday afternoon. The crash happened at Dawson and West Edenton streets about 5:15 p. m. , police said. Police said in a report of the accident that Michael Nelson Wyrick Jr. of Third Avenue Drive in Hickory was headed south on Dawson Street in the 1999 Ford truck and could not stop in time after the light at the intersection turned yellow for... Police estimated the pickup was going about 35 mph before he hit his brakes and about 20 mph when it hit the side of the westbound bus.
