All lanes reopen on I-80 in West Sac after 9-vehicle crash - KCRA Sacramento

About 10:30 a. m. , a big rig driven by 63-year-old Christopher B. Ayala, of San Francisco, failed to slow down for merging traffic. He was driving in the middle lane of I-80 at the time, near the Highway 50 connector just west of Reed Avenue, going about 55 to 60 mph, the CHP said. I-80 traffic was diverted to eastbound Highway 50 until all lanes were reopened at about 4:45 p. m. The eight other drivers were identified as: Alvin Ng, 23, of Singapore, in a Ford Fusion. Frishta Azizi, 34, of West Sacramento, in a Honda Civic. Rocha, 55, of Roseville, in a Ford Escape. Eric Melby, 53, of West Sacramento, in a PT Cruiser. Camacho, 47, of Sacramento, in a Ford F250. and Dakoda Hahn, 19, of Susanville, in a BMW 325. Among the nine total vehicles involved, there were four passengers. Patel complained of pain to his right side near his rib cage, and suffered minor abrasions.
