Table Talk: Friends, former co-workers raising funds for Michael Fusco - Tulsa World

"Michael Fusco has been a cornerstone of Tulsa food for decades. He has hired, mentored, taught, molded or fired most of the best chefs and cooks in the city. His presence in Tulsa paved the way for the rest of the culinary community to achieve a level of respect and creativity that Tulsa might not have seen without his early hard work. He led the way with community and charitable gifts, honoring the city that loved him so dearly. During this battle, he has been unable to work and support his family and he will continue to struggle for the immediate future. His colleagues, friends and mentees (sic) ask that you honor the gifts he has given Tulsans and its communities by giving back to him and helping support his family in this very dire time. He put me to work in the kitchen under newly hired Chef Michael Fusco. Michael made the best of the situation, taught me much, and we became great friends and remain such today. Michael has, as the article says, greatly influenced the Tulsa food scene and affected the lives of many. Source: www.tulsaworld.com
