Navy, following two years of budget cuts, has conceded that it lacks the necessary wherewithal to keep Marine Corps amphibious forces stationed within striking distance of American... But not to worry: the U. S. is exploring placing U. S. Marines on other nations’ ships, possibly under NATO control, and trusting that they will deliver our guys where and when they are needed. Besides being a concept one might more readily associate with rented Hessians than U. S.
