Puppy stolen with pickup truck found; reunited with owner - KMBC Kansas City

Lenexa police asked the public to keep an eye out for the dog, which was crated inside a Ford F150 pickup truck taken from a hotel parking lot between 3 a. m. and 4:15 a. m. on Saturday. Police said a crated dog was found in Edgerton Saturday morning by someone who asked to remain anonymous. That person took the Jack Russell Terrier named Jacki to a Gardner animal hospital, where she was checked and found to be fine. The animal hospital let someone else adopt the dog, but that owner saw a Facebook post and realized the dog had been stolen and called police. Jacki's owner, who asked to be identified as Jason, said the discovery will mean an end to sleepless nights. He said he loaded up his truck on Saturday and let Jacki sleep while he went back inside to take a shower and have breakfast. He said he had been trying to find the right dog for a year. The stolen pickup truck has not been recovered. JASON TELLS ME WHEN HE WENT TO POLICE HEADQUARTERS TO SEE JACKIE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE ALL OF THIS STARTED ON SATURDAY AM A JACKIE DID WHAT DOGS DO WHEN THEY GET EXCITED. THEY CAME OUT HERE AND WE WATCHED AS JACKI COULD NOT STOP LICKING IN SPACE. JASON TELLING ME HE WORRIED HE WOULD NEVER SEE THIS JACK RUSSELL PUPPY AGAIN. Source: www.kmbc.com
