Touring the Rouge Tours of the Ford Rouge Factory are offered by t he Henry Ford , the complex of attractions in Dearborn, Michigan, that also includes the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Dearborn is about three hours from Cleveland. Visitors to the Rouge must buy a ticket at the Henry Ford Museum, 20900 Oakwood Blvd. For information on the tours, plus other activities and events at the Henry Ford: thehenryford. Bill Ford, the company's chairman and CEO, invested $2 billion in the factory, the remade version that debuted in 2004. It is one of two places in the United States where Ford manufactures its wildly popular F-150 truck (the other is Kansas City). I first toured the Rouge plant four years ago, though my visit then was poorly timed: The factory was shut down due to a parts shortage following the devastating earthquake in Japan in March 2011. Perhaps it's an obvious point, but seeing this... But first, some background on Ford and his company. Source: www.cleveland.com
