2 killed in separate crashes in Colbert County Wednesday evening - AL.com
Christopher Ted Mathis, 42, of Tuscumbia was killed when the 1992 Ford F-150 he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Mathis was transported to Helen Keller Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There was another wreck on Asphalt Rock Road about five miles west of Cherokee shortly before 8 p. m. Kiersten Nancy Paige Nichols, 18, of Cherokee was a passenger in a 2005 Kia Spectra. Troopers say the Kia entered a curve, left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned. The vehicle's driver was transported to Helen Keller Hospital. Alabama State Troopers are investigating both wrecks. Source: www.al.com
