This ball & spring set is for the 39'-52' Ford top shift double detent tower part #81A-7222. This is not a stock replacement set ( I do have stock replacement sets available). The balls are smaller to fit deeper in the shift rail and the springs are much stronger. This set is designed to give you a more positive shift (you'll hear a "click" when a gear is engaged) and firmly lock the detent's in place without popping out of gear. The originals are usually weak & fatigued or sometimes even broke due to age. The solid center plunger just prevents both rails from moving at the same time and does not wear-out. If your gonna rebuild it, rebuild it right! Auction is for the springs and balls only.
