As I mentioned last week, Ford has taken all the capability and toughness that its Super Duty pickups are known for and added Platinum Series styling and luxury amenities. The Platinum Series Super Duty is available in F-250, F-350 and F-450 crew cab models. At least I’ve provided a lot of entertainment for my co-workers this week who race to the front door when they see the truck pull into the parking lot at the paper and start making bets on “how many points” it will take me to wiggle this bad boy... As with the F-250 Platinum, F-350 buyers have their choice of two engines, including Ford’s 6. 7-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel V-8 engine (400 horsepower/800 lbs. torque), this is a fully capable, Built Ford Tough, get-the-job done work truck with the capability to tow up to 17,500 pounds using conventional towing or up to 24,700 using fifth-wheel towing. Standard features include Sync with MyFord Touch, navigation system, power-adjustable pedals, rear view camera system, remote start system, universal garage door opener and power-telescoping mirrors. While you can control climate, navigation and audio systems with voice commands via Sync, my absolute favorite feature is the larger knobs and buttons that allows the driver to operate all the systems manually while wearing work gloves.
