SCMPD investigating hit and run on I-516 near Bay St. exit - WTOC
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an early morning hit and run after a Bluffton man was seriously injured in a wreck on I-516 near the Bay Street exit. SCMPD Major Accident Investigation Team is heading up the investigation, officers recovered a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup that was abandoned by its driver after the 2:23 a. m. crash. Rufus Wiggins, 54, of Bluffton, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries. As a result Wiggins' car then struck a concrete guardrail.
