Tony Stewart didn’t want to be reminded this week about the events of one year ago at a dirt track near Rochester, N. Y. , where he was involved in a Sprint Car race accident that killed 20 year old Kevin Ward Jr. The three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup... Last year, he missed the Sprint Cup race as a result of that incident and the year before that he missed the race at the Glen after breaking his leg in two places in another Sprint Car dirt track crash at Southern Iowa Speedway. On top of those two events, Stewart is having his worst NASCAR season, with zero wins, zero top-fives and just two top-10 finishes in 21 races in the No. 14 Stewart Haas Racing Chevrolet. The 44-year-old Stewart was introspective in talking about the past two seasons of his racing life, not holding back on saying those traumatic events changed his life. “I don’t know how you could be.
