Staff Picks Favorite Things We Saw at the Auto Show in Detroit - Bloomberg

Bloomberg staffers covering the North American International Auto Show share their favorite things they saw at Cobo Center in Detroit. * Hannah Elliott -- Car columnist for Bloomberg Luxury. * FAVORITE THING I SAW: Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan * WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT: It’s as much about the driver as it is about the (very lucky) passenger: V-12 engine, 523 horsepower, 612 pound-feet of torque at 1,900 rpm, 0-60 mph in 5... * BEST FEATURE: The Air Balance system, which filters, humidifies and scents the air inside the cabin. * FAVORITE THING I SAW: Mercedes AMG GLE 63S * WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT: It’s a gigantic, all-wheel- drive, “four-door coupe,” in the style of BMW’s much maligned X6, only Mercedes does it better. This version is drenched in AMG luxury on the interior and powered by the same 577-hp twin-turbo, 5. 5-liter V-8 that drives the AMG GT supercar. * BEST FEATURE: The interior is the nicest I saw at the whole show. * NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: Mercedes COMMAND system is used here, as well as cheap, plastic-y looking.
