Emerson Park car show continues to draw big Father's Day crowds - Auburn Citizen

OWASCO | The rain came down hard around the start of the Prison City Ramblers Father's Day Car Show on the island in Emerson Park. Last year's participation was a record breaker at 800 registered guests, but the weather knocked numbers down to 415 on Sunday, which was about the same number as 2013, when the weather was similar. Registrants included those wishing to sell a car in the corral area, hot rods, classics, muscles cars, motorcycles and trucks owners. Best in Show went to Baldwinsville’s Bruce Hobson’s 1969 Roadrunner. “It’s a unique car ‘cause the hood comes off entirely,” Bruce said. He’s been involved for years with classic cars but this is his first best of show. The best motorcycle in the show went to Cato’s Mark Owen’s 2012 CVO (custom vehicle operations) Harley Davidson with N-Line trailer. A show first timer, Owen said, Harley basically makes about 1500 CVOs a year, which means these are essentially hand-built machines. Best Street Ride was a 1937 Ford Black Coupe built by Larry Romano of Pennellville. Best Truck was a red and white 1957 Ford. Source: auburnpub.com
