Spectacle, pageantry reigns at parade - Monett Times
Special marching units: Cub Scout Pack No. 140, first. Scott Regional Technology Center JROTC, second. Antique cars (1950 and older): Jeff and Melinda Owens' 1932 Ford three-window coupe, first. Mounted units: Latricia Davis and her miniature horse, Best in Show. Monett's parade lasted for 50 minutes and had more than 75 units participating, with many coming at the last minute that were not eligible for competition. David Honeycutt, one of the Kiwanis Club volunteers who helped to line up the participants, said temperatures in the mid-50s provided the best conditions for a parade he has seen in 30 years.
