Cruisin' Nationals Drives Custom Cars To Santa Maria - KEYT

SANTA MARIA, Calif . - By the hundreds, classic cars of every shape, make, model, style and color descended into Santa Maria over the weekend. The event, now in its 34th year overall, returned to Santa Maria for the 7th straight year. This year, more than 800 cars and trucks were in the show, which included a two-day display at the Santa Maria Fairpark. "One of our club guys is from Ireland, we have guys here from Japan, guys from Australia, they come from all over the world to come to this show," said Joe Cuevas, a truck owner from Cuyama Valley. Cuevas, who is the local representative for West Coast Kustoms, was here displaying his fully restored and individually customized 1959 Ford Ranchero. I work a lot of overtime to pay for this car and a lot of time with the kids, we do all the body work, this was actually a rust bucket when we found it and modified everything, shaved everything, hydraulics all around, custom grill," said Cuevas. Like Cuevas' Ranchero, all of the cars and trucks in the show are one hundred percent unique, all one-of-a-kind works of art, and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Source: www.keyt.com
