This is a very nice original Moroso 12,000 RPM mechanical tachometer. These tachs are well known for being used on factory and independent race cars of the 1960's and 1970's. Made by Jones Motrola, these tachs were known for being the most accurate and reliable gauges on the market. They came with a price tag that reflected the quality so you had to be pretty serious to pony up the cash for one. They were pretty rare back in the day and are almost impossible to find today.
This tach is in very good condition as shown. The dial is very clean with bright, vibrant graphics. The lens is clean and clear as shown. The housing is very nice with the original MOROSO decal intact as shown.This is an awesome true vintage tach!
To add to the rarity of this tach, it also came equipped with the "tell tale" or "tattle tale" needle. This needle shows the highest RPM the engine was revved to since the needle was last reset. This was important for race teams to calculate desired shift points and also to hold driver's accountable for over revving and damaging an engine. If a driver came back to the pits broken, the tach you "tell the tale". The needle can be reset with the button on the side of the housing.
This tach has been tested and works as good great with smooth and responsive movement. The "tell tale" red needle also works well and resets as designed. This is an awesome true vintage tach!
There is no cable included with this tach. I do have a few cables of various lengths and I'm sure we can work something out if you need one.
