Matthew McConaughey to appear in new Lincoln MKX ads - Detroit Free Press

Oscar winning actor Matthew McConaughey will be featured in a new ad campaign for the 2016 Lincoln MKX mid-size crossover that is in U. S. dealerships and en route to consumers in China. McConaughey will continue to be the face of Ford's luxury brand in a new campaign that debuts Sept. 12 and broadcast plans include National Football League games, said John Emmert, group marketing manager for Lincoln. For the MKX, the ads have a new tone, Emmert said. The expectation is sales will increase with the new model that is all-new and much improved in how it rides, steers, brakes and looks. Production of models for sale began in June and dealerships should be well stocked in early September, Emmert said. The 2016 MKX has more technology, with a suite of driver-assist systems, adaptive lighting and an auto hold button that keeps the vehicle from moving without having to hold the foot on the brake, said Chief Engineer John Polasek. Engine choices include the twin-turbocharged 2. 7-liter V6 tweaked to get more horsepower than it gets in the F-150 pickup, or the 3. 7-liter V6. Later this fall Lincoln will add adaptive steering that makes the car more responsive at highway... It will be the first Ford vehicle with the improved steering system. Source: www.freep.com
