Fort Collins bank robbery suspect arrested in Idaho - The Coloradoan

Marshals and detectives in Idaho have arrested the suspect in last week’s Old Town Fort Collins bank robbery. Marshals and detectives with the Boise Police Department on Thursday night contacted and arrested Edward Allen McGrath, 57, in Idaho after a resident tipped off investigators, Fort Collins Sgt. He is not a Fort Collins resident but is believed to have lived in Minnesota. “We are continuing to work with the Boise Police Department and other assisting agencies for further investigation,” Cunningham said, adding that local investigators on Friday traveled to Idaho to continue the probe. McGrath was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and theft for the heist. Witnesses told police a man in his 40s or 50s, wearing a blue windbreaker and jeans, passed a note to a bank teller demanding cash and saying he had a gun. It remains unclear whether the suspect was involved in a Loveland robbery earlier in the week. Police said a man brandished a gun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash in a black four-door, newer model Ford pickup. Source: www.coloradoan.com
