Any time you bring a new brand into a market, or return one to a market after a long hiatus, there is a learning curve. After its initial success absorbing its Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has set its sights on building its namesake brand. Fiat has had something of a slow start thanks in part to having models that are only derivative of one another. If you attended the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix this summer, you probably saw Fiat, along with Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati and several other Italian marques showcased at the event. “Fiat is a niche brand, but like other Italian brands, it represents a perfect combination of styling and spirited driving,” says Bob Baierl, vice president of Baierl Automotive.
