After chase, Killeen teen faces four charges - Lampasas Dispatch Record

A high-speed chase through west Lampasas landed a Killeen teenager in Lampasas County Jail Friday night. He also was charged with speeding, minor in possession of alcohol and minor in possession of tobacco. Shortly after 7:30 p. m. , Officer Lowell Wright attempted to stop a 2005 Dodge 3500 Dually diesel for speeding. The vehicle, driven by Doyle, was westbound on West North Avenue, traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. The Dodge immediately took evasive action and was driving in a manner that made it impossible for Wright to maintain visual contact with the vehicle. Just a couple of minutes later, Officer Larry Wilson spotted a vehicle at West First and Samac streets that matched the suspect’s vehicle description. Wilson attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver of the Dually again took evasive action, traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on County Road 1020. The Dodge hit speeds in excess of 70 mph. Montgomery set up Stop Sticks – a tire deflation device – on the county road and was successful in deflating the left and right front and right rear tires of the pickup. The vehicle continued evading police as it proceeded eastward to West First and Porter streets. Source: www.lampasasdispatchrecord.com
