Chevy Jumps Back into Low Cab Forward Commercial Chassis Trucks [News] - The Fast Lane
You may have seen an Isuzu commercial truck dealership attached to a Chevrolet or GMC store. GM and Isuzu have had a long partnership on truck components, engines, and commercial vehicles. Now, Chevrolet is taking a step further to brand the Isuzu N-series low cab forward 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cabs with the Chevy badge for the 2016 model year. GM has been absent from the medium duty commercial truck segment since 2009, when the Chevy Kodiak and GMC Topkick exited the market. Both Ford and Ram have entries in the 4500 and 5500 class of trucks. The low cab forward design is one unique feature that is an exercise in efficient packaging. GM is putting more than just badging on these trucks. However, you can also get Isuzu-sources 3. 0-liter or 5. 2-liter turbo-diesel engines depending on the model. There will be six models available: 3500, 3500 HD, 4500, 4500 HD, 5500, and 5500 HD. Chevrolet has not yet disclosed the weight rating for all these models. These trucks are labeled as 2016 model year, so they may become available at the Chevrolet dealership before the end of calendar year 2015. These trucks will be available in regular and crew cabs with chassis lengths ranging from 109 to 212 inches. Source: www.tfltruck.com
