It takes a special kind of lunatic to glance over the spec sheet of a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat , notice the 707 hp on tap, and say, “Yeah, we can do better. ” The power-mad tuning wizards over at Hennessey Performance are just the type of tuner to do this, and have just revealed their new HPE850 package for the 2015 and 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. To make this earth-moving power, Hennessey makes a raft of modifications to the 6. 2-liter supercharged V-8 engine. The ECU is swapped out for a custom unit, and engineers install a high-flow air intake, a pulley that increases supercharger boost by about 2 psi, a ported throttle body, and a ported supercharger housing. The end result is an astonishing increase of 145 hp. To differentiate the HPE850 from the limp-wristed base Charger Hellcats you are bound to see on the drag strip, the Hennessey Hellcat comes with embroidered Hennessey headrests on the inside,... Each HPE850 is numbered, with a special dash plaque on the inside, as well as a serial plaque on the engine. There's a big difference between car enthusiasts, and car fanatics.
