Plastic parts in your engine compartment have a finite lifespan.
But, you can't blame them considering what they're exposed to -
oil and fuel in the air + engine heat cycles followed by all
kinds of temperatures and conditions from Mother Nature - it's
really a surprise they don't break down faster. Normally OEM
ones last longer as they're made from better plastics that are
made for this environment however this costs more to make which
is why so many sellers on ebay instead offer repops made from
crappy plastic that cracks and breaks usually within a month so
they can sell them cheap. Luckily the real OEM ones are still
being made so you can still get the good stuff. Now will they
last forever? No. But they normally last as long as the original
ones on your BMW did as they're made to BMW's specs so vacuum
leaks shouldn't be a problem you have to deal with again for a
long time. This kit gives you the crankcase vent valve, oil
separator hose, and three different breather hoses. And though
we mention it in the applications let's say again just in case -
these are not for BMW's with the factory cold-weather option -
these are the standard non-insulated hoses!
