Music Scene Rev Room gets Mystikal; track goes disco - Arkansas Online

Rapper Mystikal will perform at 10 p. m. Friday at the Rev Room. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the show and $50 for "VIP," which includes meet and greet, access to VIP lounge, a private waitress and plush seating. Mystikal, 44, born Michael Tyler in New Orleans, launched his career in 1994 with his debut Mystikal. He followed that with six albums, the latest of which, Original , came out earlier this year and is his first release in 14 years, following various criminal prosecutions. The Salty Dogs will head for the Ouachita Mountains to perform in Mount Ida at 7 p. m. Saturday on the lawn of the courthouse. Other members are guitarist Nick Devlin, bassist Brent LaBeau and lead singer/guitarist Brad Williams. Formed in 2003, the group released the albums The Salty Dogs and Friends in 2004, Autoharpoon in 2007, Brand New Reason in 2009, and its latest, Too Old to Fight , in March 2014. Admission is free.
