Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said the penalty should push Fiat Chrysler to getting the vehicles off the road. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (NYSE:FCAU) manufactures marque, globally recognized luxury brands like the Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Jeep in addition to the popular Chrysler , Dodge, Fiat models. NHTSA administrator, Mark Rosekind, commented on Fiat Chrysler’s fine, “Fiat Chrysler’s pattern of poor performance put millions of its customers and the driving public at risk”. According to NBC News, the buy back of Dodge Ram pickups and other vehicles is part of a deal with safety regulators. Dodge Ram models included in the buyback are from the 1500 series, made between 2009 and 2012, the 2008 Ram Mega Cab 4×4, and the 4×4 models in series 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 made from 2008 to 2012.
