Watch: Teen's BMW Catches Fire During South Brunswick Car Stop - Patch.com

A teen driver from Woodbridge was pulled over for speeding in South Brunswick , but as he sat on the side of the road, his BMW caught fire, police said. South Brunswick Officer Tom Spilatore pulled over the 2001 BMW 325 on Route 130 Tuesday evening. As he issued the teenage Woodbridge driver a summons, the teen got out of the car and told the officer that smoke was coming from the vents in his car, a news release from Capt. Spilatore notified the fire department and tried to contain the blaze with a fire extinguisher, but within minutes, smoke was pouring out of the vehicle and the highway had to be shut down briefly, police said.
