Impaired driver causes head-on collision - Dubois County Free Press

Bretzville — A passenger was taken to the hospital with what police described as minor internal injuries after the vehicle she was in was involved in a head-on collision Thursday evening. According to authorities, Robert H. Luebbehusen, 72, of County Road 100W, was northbound on State Road 162 near County Road 350S in a 2007 Buick Rendezvous at about 8:34 p. m. when he noticed an oncoming 2007 Ford Mustang in his lane. Luebbehusen was unable to move his vehicle in time to completely avoid a collision and the Ford struck the passenger side of his Buick. The Buick had about $6,000 in damages and the Ford had about $8,000. Indiana State Police, St. Anthony Volunteer Firefighters, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and wreckers from Ruxer and Uebelhor and Sons assisted. Otwell — A carnival employee was arrested in Otwell after police identified the man in surveillance video showing he had stolen money from a Jasper business. Thursday, police were called to a Jasper business about the theft of $140 from a cash register that had happened on Tuesday. According to police, they reviewed the video surveillance which showed a patron later identified as Bernard L. Johnson, 39, of Louisville, accessing a cash register when an employee stepped away.
