Police say armed driver runs away from Aurora crash - Chicago Tribune

The incident began around 9:18 p. m. near Gates Street and Binder Street where a woman was driving with a male passenger. The woman told police that as she pulled into the intersection of Gates Street and Binder Street her vehicle was struck by an oncoming Buick Lucerne that failed to stop. The impact of the crash caused the woman's car to spin, and the Lucerne to veer to the right and strike a tree in the 900 block of Gates Street. The Lucerne's male driver then ran away from the vehicle with a male and female passenger, police said. Police said the first witness reported hearing a lot of yelling coming from the Binder Street area, and then hearing a car accelerate quickly. He saw the vehicle smashed against the tree, police said. The witness told police he saw a male driver exit the vehicle, a woman get out of the front passenger seat and a second man exit from a back seat door. A second witness reported being asleep when he heard a loud sound and saw a vehicle had struck the tree outside his home. Source: www.chicagotribune.com
