Band Night Parade to follow new route - Bismarck Tribune

The annual Band Night Parade will take place Friday with student-musicians from 31 schools marching down a new parade route in Bismarck. The parade will begin at the Capitol grounds and continue south down Sixth Street. At East Avenue A, bands will turn right, traveling west for two blocks to Fourth Street. Other Bismarck parades will follow the same pattern, as city commissioners voted in February to reroute all parades so they do not cross the train tracks downtown. "The Band Night Parade is the guinea pig," said Tamara Kautzman, chair of the committee organizing the parade. Bands from schools throughout North Dakota, as well as the surrounding states, are slated to walk in the parade, which starts at 6:30 p. m. Ernie Borr, a retired band director from Mandan, will serve as the grand marshal. Source: bismarcktribune.com
