A man injured after a Canby school bus crashed into his car is suing the bus driver and the company that owns the bus for $321,110. William Hilfiker claims he was going through an intersection in downtown Canby on April 23 when the bus ran a red... Hilfiker, 78, claims the driver and the bus company, First Student Inc. The Canby School District, which contracts with First Student for transportation, also was named as a defendant in the lawsuit. The bus ran over the front of Hilfiker's 1999 Buick Century sedan, the lawsuit said. Hilfiker suffered a separated shoulder, multiple sprains and strains and injuries that may be permanent and degenerative, the lawsuit said. He is seeking $15,000 for medical expenses, $50,000 in future medical expenses, $250,000 in non-economic damages and costs related to his car. Source: www.oregonlive.com
