2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV Luxury review notes - AutoWeek

Caddy’s Escalade does large luxury tastefully. EDITOR WES RAYNAL: It’s no secret around here I love me some big trucks, and this 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV Luxury certainly is big. While I personally would probably not spring for the Escalade and just get a Chevrolet Suburban instead (and not feel in the least that I’m settling), I’m a huge fan of GM’s big utes. I got behind the wheel of our long-term 2007 Suburban as often as possible back in the day and wish we owned one still, or I owned one. Three rows, body on frame construction, body on frame for towing a gazillion pounds -- they’re just so dang useful. The Escalade takes the Suburban and blings things up a notch or three with lots of chrome and a gorgeous leather-lined and ginormous interior. I like the way Cadillacs look for the most part. The ride feels firm(ish) and well controlled considering the truck’s weight. The truck just does so many things right -- easily handling anything I imagine you could throw at it. Love it. DIGITAL EDITOR ANDREW STOY: Raynal says the new Escalade “blings things up,” but I think that’s playing to a stereotype about the... the 2015 Escalade instead brings one of GM’s most tastefully elegant interiors ever to the market.
