It was first selected as part of the top 25 vehicles on display and made it to the top five that were contenders for the Barrett-Jackson Cup, with each of the top five vehicles having excellent design and construction and a shot at the big prize. Excitement built as the runners up were announced, leaving the 1962 Impala with the top prize that included $30,000, a new Chevrolet Performance crate engine and transmission, Craftsman tools, and more. Cal Creations’ goal was to refine the shape of the coupe and create a car that would be timeless. In that vein, the interior features dark red upholstery by Recovery Room Hot Rod Interiors with classic round gauges and the exterior uses numerous subtle modifications that followed Bob Thrash’s rendering, including reshaped bumpers, a subtle...
