The brewery, which opens its tasting room Friday, will be the third San Leandro craft beer maker, joining Drake's Brewing Co. and Cleophus Quealy Beer Co. "The craft beer industry is growing," said Dave Wilson, 21st Amendment president. But now, with Cleophus Quealy, Drake's and us in San Leandro. 21st Amendment co-founder and brewmaster Shaun O'Sullivan got his first brewing job at Triple Rock, working for John and Reid Martin. The three San Leandro brewers are collaborating on a special ale -- a Belgian triple -- for 21st Amendment's opening party Aug. The breweries are part of San Leandro's transformation from a post-World War II factory town to one attracting entrepreneurs, tech startups and younger people, as former warehouse and industrial spaces are being repurposed for retail and other uses.
